REMINDER: The annual unclaimed property report, for the 2010 report year is due by May 2, 2011. The Reporting Instructions Manual can be found below in the Reporting Links and Information Section and contains all the information and requirements to report unclaimed property to the State of Florida.

This web page is designed to assist holders of unclaimed property (i.e. corporations, retailers, public entities, etc.) in reporting unclaimed property and provide updated instructions for those who have previously reported.

NOTICE: Courts and Governmental agencies - including any court, government or governmental subdivision or agency, public corporation or public authority. All property held by Courts and Governmental Agencies, regardless of property type, has a 1 year dormancy period.
NOTICE: Due to the "On-Line Filing" application being under construction, a zero report can be e-mailed to the Department by providing the holder number, report year, FEID number, name of company, mailing address, city, state, zip code, contact person, telephone number, e-mail address, and a statement that this is a "Zero" or "Negative" report. The BUP Reporting e-mail address is EReporting@myfloridacfo.com.
Reporting Instructions Manual
Contains information on the requirements for an entity in reporting unclaimed property to the Florida Department of Financial Services. Included are the required forms for paper reporting, electronic reporting instructions, Florida's dormancy period table, etc.


Please note that the unclaimed property annual report must be filed before May 1 of each year for property that has met the required dormancy period during the preceding calendar year ending December 31. Florida is not a November 1 filing state.

NOTICE: Section 717.117(1), Florida Statutes, requires that a report identifying 25 or more different apparent owners must be submitted by the holder via electronic medium (diskette or CD-ROM). In addition, the Bureau of Unclaimed Property requires that all electronic reports be submitted in the NAUPA format revision which became effective November 2003.
Reporting Forms
For a holder reporting less than 25 apparent owners, the Department's reporting forms may be used. Generic forms are not accepted. The information should be typed on to the forms.
